Gladys De Weerd Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 9, 2024, at the age of 91, Gladys De Weerd of Sioux Center, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Gerrit Draayer and Jane Draayer (Langstraat); her husband Gerald De Weerd; her children, Daniel De Weerd and Gail De Weerd; her siblings, Nick Draayer (Dorothy), John Draayer (Gertrude), Ed Draayer (Lillian), Wilbur Draayer (Jeanette), Wilmina Kramer (Henry), Katherine Calkhoven (John) and Anna De Weerd (John); and her in-laws, Gerrit Kruid and Belle Draayer.
She is survived by : her children, Stan (Arlis De Weerd), Bill (Mary Schoep), Arlin (Helen De Weerd), Roger (BJ De Weerd) and Bernie (Pam Punt); her grandchildren, Jason De Weerd, Scott, Noemi De Weerd, Darin, Janelle De Wit, Greg, Allison Blom, Brady, Rhonda Fopma, Laura Schoep, Travis De Weerd, Brandon De Weerd, Aaron, Elizabeth De Weerd, Tyler, Breanne Te Grotenhuis, Branson De Weerd, Amber Stroman, Eric, Tracy Punt, Matt, Brittney Punt, Justin and Andrea Cramer; and her siblings, Gary Draayer (Sandy), Ken Draayer and Cynthia Kruid. She is also survived by 35 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the De Weerd family prefer memorials be directed to Sioux Center Christian School or Western Christian High School.
