It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard Lee Brandes of Sioux Center, Iowa, who passed away on July 8, 2022, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by : his wife Jean Compaan; his children, Brad (Erin) of Niles, Michigan and Becky of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandson Brian of Onawa, Iowa; his daughter Brenda Van Beek (Doug) of Harrisburg, SD; his grandsons, Robert and Matthew; his brothers, Hank (Sue) of Elizabeth, CO, Larry (Lori) of Orange City, IA and Curt (Karen) of Canton, SD; his half-sister Lisa Hodgsen (Terry) of LeMars, IA; and his parents-in-law, Rod Compaan (Marlene) of Sioux Falls, Wynetta Van De (Wimp), Anthony (Carol) of Jacksonville, FL and Norlyn (Cheryl) of Holland, MI. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
