He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecilia Wacker and Erwin Wacker; and his siblings, Wayne, Carlyle Wacker, Helen Hall and Sally Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Tom Wacker (Christine) of Le Mars and Rebecca Carlson (Ron Johns) of Sioux City; his grandchildren, Kasey Syverson (Louis Talay) of Sydney, AU, Owen and Samuel Wacker of Le Mars; his former wife Mary Ellen Ellyson (Joe Nitzke); his sisters, Margaret Newman and Barbara Wacker; and his pet Ruby. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church where he was an usher and donated his excellent cooking skills to the church's Saturday Evening Meal Program.
