He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel J. McCarthy and Helen McCarthy (Lamb); his wife Marilyn McCarthy; his daughter Joan McCarthy; and his siblings, Tom McCarthy, Ruth Rooney, Judy McCarthy, Caroline McCarthy, Marjorie Loutsch and Mary Rose Morgan.
He is survived by: his children, Jill McCarthy of Sioux City, Daniel L. McCarthy of Jackson, NE, Dennis McCarthy (Sherry) of Sergeant Bluff, IA, Elizabeth Brenden of Whiting, IA and Greg McCarthy (Kathy) of Sioux City; and his siblings, Alice Reeg, Ellen Livingston and Jack McCarthy (Madonna). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.
