He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob and LaVonne Wingert (Custer); his siblings, Janice Anderson and Vernon Wingert; and his sister-in-law Sharen Wingert.
He is survived by: his siblings, Raymond Wingert, Richard Wingert (Cindy), Debbie Modlin (Ralph), Darrell Wingert (Brenda), Ernie Wingert (Cathy) and Kevin Wingert; and his sister-in-law Sherry Wingert. He is also survived by his brothers, nieces, or nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (6200 Morningside Ave, Sioux City, IA 51106). A prayer was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Bethany Lutheran Church (1201 Dubuque St, Sioux City, IA 51105).
