She was predeceased by: her parents, Merritt Carlson and Esther Carlson (Savary); her husband Harold "Mick" McDermott; and her siblings, Gloria Baumberger, Joyce Strahan and Bud Carlson.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Lesniak (Chris) of Elkton, MD, Mike McDermott (Julie) of Des Moines, IA, Mark McDermott (Page) of Fairfax County, VA and Matt McDermott (Cari) of Elk Point, SD. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren.
