Joyce L. Bennett Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joyce L. Bennett (Sioux City, Iowa), who passed away on May 31, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Janson and Esther Janson (Haller); her husband Gilford "Gil" Bennett; her children, Tiny Tim Bennett and Penny Burgett; her sister Laura Dam (Jack); and her brother-in-law Karl Staben.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Bennett (Susan), Jenny Hodges (Richard) and Amy Tweedy (Kelly); her son-in-law Roger Burgett; her grandchildren, Michael Burgett, Mary Beth Brock (Jeremy), Ron Hodges (Megan), Jeremy Hodges (Kim), Michelle Mogensen (Christian), Matthew Bennett (Kristina), Dustin Tweedy (Megan) and Jacob Tweedy (Kaitlin); and her siblings, Ruth Staben and Ron Janson (Sharon). She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Calendar St James Global Methodist Church (2032 S Cypress St, Sioux City, IA 51106). A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to the family or to St. James Global Methodist Church.
