He was predeceased by : his parents, Gordon Kilstrom and Marian Kilstrom (McDougall); and his sister Marsha Watts. He is survived by : his wife Juliana Kilstrom of Sioux City; his children, Derek Kilstrom (Ashley), Courtney Cortez (Douglas) of Sioux City and Kallie Etter (Ryan) of Sioux City; his grandchildren, Conor Kilstrom, Andrew Cortez, Sean Kilstrom, Austin Cortez, Emersyn Etter and Avery Etter; and his brother Steve Kilstrom of Sioux City. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
