She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Bentz and Dorothy Bentz (Unger); and her former husband Michael Erskine. She is survived by: her husband Dennis Smith; her son Sean Erskine; and her siblings, Steve Bentz (Shelly), Doug Bentz (Debbie), Kathy Morrison (Mark) and Jeff Bentz (Melissa). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was an animal lover, quite passionate about rescue animals, and donated to various animal rescue organizations.
