He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Carnes and Jenny Carnes (Pittman); his wife Shirley M. Clark; his son Joe; and his brothers, Roy, Ed, Howard and Rex.
He is survived by: his children, Paul Carnes (Deana) of Sioux City, IA and Linda Sidie-Wales (Brian) of Monroe, IA; and his close friend Gwen Plantz. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
