He is survived by: his former wife Yvonne "Toni" Ybarra; his son Jake Gerking of Sioux City, IA; and his brothers, Tom Gerking of Sloan, IA and Todd Gerking (Jill) of Spirit Lake, IA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In Lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jake Gerking's name at Central Bank (4201 S. Lakeport St.) in Sioux City, IA.
