He was predeceased by: his father John D. Smith; and his brother Roger Smith (Cindy). He is survived by: his mother Frances B. Smith (Heath) of Sioux Falls; his children, Brent Smith of Sioux City, Brian Smith (Shannon) of Lawton and Marla Keller (Tim) of Cherokee, Iowa; his grandchildren, Xavier, Carson, Conner, Reina, Brenna and Kane; and his siblings, Marcella Salmen (Charles) of Sioux City, David Smith (Cindy) of Hinton, Rick Smith (Sue) of Hinton, Marlow Smith (Rexann) of Sioux City, Kathy Hagen (Mark) of Sioux Falls and Renita Uhl (Terry) of Council Bluffs, Iowa. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
