She was predeceased by: her parents, Ferd Arens and Susan Arens (Schiltz); her husband Willard Schindel; and her siblings, Sylvester Arens (Francis), Roman Arens (Lucille), Esther Larson (Mel), Mildred Colling (Carl), Viola Niehus (Doyle), Dolores Larson (Don) and Bonnie Piquette (Lawrence).
She is survived by: her children, Karen Nolting (Mike), Connie Schuver (Jim) of West Bend, IA and Doug Schindel (Judy) of Cedar Falls, IA; her grandchildren, Justin (Sheila), Jason, Jennifer (Jeremy), Jeremy (Traci), Christine, Joshua (Jessica), Michael (Samantha) and Matthew (Bailey); her great grandchildren, Karlie, Kellen, Averie, Grace, Grant, Kylee, Carter, Caden, Shea, Miles, Beckett and Maren; and her great great grandchild Ajla. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (6200 Morningside Ave, Sioux City, IA 51106). A vigil service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Mater Dei Parish - Nativity Catholic (4242 Natalia Way, Sioux City, IA 51106).
