Bob was born on June 12, 1939 in Wayne, Nebraska to Collier J. and Alice May (Martin) Boyce. He received his education in the Wayne Public Schools before joining the United States Army, where he played drums with Elvis Presley in the commissary, due to Bob and Elvis being in the same unit. Upon his honorable discharge, Bob married Perriann P. Bradley on May, 30, 1959. He was married to the love-of-his-life for 62 years, and the couple had three children: Ken and Troy from Sioux City, and a daughter Dawn (Mike) Carper from Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Bob was known for his outgoing personality, his sense of humor, and his love for his family. He loved vintage cars and was a member of 2 car clubs: The Sioux City Strollers and The Vintage Wheels. Bob belonged to the Odd Fellows Lodge and was a member of Triangle Lodge #643 and the Abu Bekr Shrine. He enjoyed being a Hospital Dad and a Shrine Clown (Bo Bo). He was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan. Bob knew no strangers and touched the hearts of every single person he encountered.

Bob is survived by his wife Perriann of Sioux City; sons Ken and Troy, daughter Dawn (Mike) Carper; grandson Shane and great-grandson Asher Carper, both of Indiana; brother Larry Boyce; sisters Lois (Vern) Miller and Linda (Jim) Martindale; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers: Terry, Don, and Dick.
