She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Oester and Marie Oester; her husband Leon Shortenhaus; her siblings, Lee, Ken and Helen; and her grandson David.
She is survived by: her sons, Dan Shortenhaus (Alicia Klein), Joe Shortenhaus (Darla) of Sioux City, Iowa and Ron Shortenhaus (Holly); her grandchildren, Erik (Sarah), Jeremiah, Landon, Drew and Emma Shortenhaus; her stepgranddaughters, Melissa, Brianna, Nicole and Mackenzie; and her great grandchildren, Caroline, Lou, Quinn, Cecelia and Flynn.
Memorials may be made in her name to Grace United Methodist Church.
