It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Velky of Solon, Iowa, born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who passed away on November 5, 2022, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Velky and Mary Velky (Buchanan); his sisters, Donna Clark and Gloria Malatek; his siblings-in-law, John, Betty Herbert and Nancy Hoffa (Jon); and his pet Bruiser.
He is survived by: his wife Julie Herbert; his daughter Jen Colby (Chris); his granddaughter Emma; his siblings, Emil Jr. "Butch" Velky (Carol), Cheryl Velky, Brian Velky (Karrie) and Tanya Velky (Chris); his siblings-in-law, Teresa Young (Jim) and Pat Malatek; and his close friend Bill Lehman (Cheryl). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
