She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Hurt and Viola Hurt; her husband Russell C. Carson; her sister Marilyn Hedges; and her granddaughter Jamie Wilson.
She is survived by: her children, Jean Wilson (Steve) of Iowa City, Terry Carson (Cindy) of Fairfax and Cindy Walker (Craig) of West Branch; her grandchildren, Andy Wilson (Annie), Mike Crow (Shelly), Jeremy Crow, Todd Walker (Jennifer), Lee Nearad and Amanda Pitts (Justin); her great grandchildren, Jocelynn Morgan, Avery, Brody Wilson, Caleb Crow, Tatum Burnhardt, Bella Nearad, Zachary Walker, Bailey Boelk (Carver), Carson and Emily Pitts; and her sister Carolyn Polman.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (1749 Racine Ave NE, Solon, IA 52333). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Shirley Carson Memorial Fund.
