It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jerry Dean Nelson of Spencer, Iowa, who passed away on April 28, 2023, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Stanley H. Nelson and Jean Nelson (Lanpher); his grandparents, Ole, Christine Nelson, Harvey and Gladys Lanpher; his parents-in-law, Marlene Reynolds and Roger Smith; and his brother Dale (Bert Nelson).

He is survived by : his wife Candace Nelson of Spirit Lake, IA; his sons, Thad Nelson (Kristin) of Seattle, WA and Josh Nelson (Melissa) of Spencer, IA; his grandson Jay Nelson; and his siblings, E. Dean Jacobus of Seal Beach, CA, Doug Nelson (Deb) of Milford, IA and Jeana Ridder (Tom) of Omaha, NE. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Jerry to Iowa Great Lakes Lutheran School.
