With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Michael Leonard of Spencer, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 11, 2025 at the age of 76. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Leonard and Bernette Leonard (Donahue); his siblings, Shirley Petersen, Jeanette Cooke and Tom Leonard; and his brothers-in-law, Ken Cooke and Rick Rouse.
He is survived by: his children, Troy Leonard (Lesa) of Anchorage, Chad Leonard (Carrie) of Tallahassee, Jared Leonard (Amber) of Palmer, Brad Leonard of Redfield and Kim Maxwell (Bret) of Adel, Iowa; his close friend Jennifer Sanderson of Milford, Iowa; his siblings, Pat Leonard (Joanne) of Colorado, Gary Leonard (Sandy) of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Deb Rouse of Emmetsburg and Annette Gilman (Rich) of Golden, Colorado; and his siblings-in-law, Delbert Petersen of Estherville, Iowa and Susan Leonard of Emmetsburg, Iowa.. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home (704 Grand Ave, Emmetsburg, IA 50536). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 16th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (2003 Broadway St, Emmetsburg, IA 50536).
