It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nelva Jane Petersen (Spencer, Iowa), born in Sioux Center, Iowa, who passed away on March 3, 2024, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, John Feekes and Jeanette Feekes (Vonk); and her brother Mike Feekes. She is survived by : her husband Thomas Petersen of Spencer; her child Shad Kats of Hull, IA; her grandchildren, Kerrigan, Jerad and Braeden; her child Misti Fykstra (Jason) of Boyden, IA; her grandchildren, Dustin and Kyra; her daughter Molly Kats of Sioux City, IA; her granddaughters, Alisha and Grace; and her siblings, Harlen Feekes (Cheryl), Doug Feekes (Melinda) of Arizona, Verlyn Feekes of Missouri, Cheri Helfenstein (Ryan) and Tami Brizinski (Morris). She is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles; other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to: Rivers Edge Methodist Church, First Christian Church or Upper Des Moines.
