He is survived by: his children, Chad Ries (Amy) of Spencer, Iowa, Ryan Ries (April) of Spencer, Iowa, Lori Vanderpool (Brian) of Gillett Grove, Iowa, Jake Ries (Erin) of Spencer, Iowa and Beth Ries (Chuck Griffin) of Spencer, Iowa.; and his sister Linda Mell of Spencer, Iowa.. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
