With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sharon Francis Mengelsen of Spencer, Iowa, born in Honolulu, Hawaii, who passed away on April 23, 2023 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Francis Lloyd and Kathryn Van Kuren (Kimfung); and her siblings, John Albios, Patrick Van Kuren, Thelma Albeso, Francis Van Kuren, Kimo Van Kuren (James), Bo Van Kuren (James), Janine Albois (Ninko) and Deborah Van Kuren.

She is survived by : her husband James Thomas Mengelsen Sr.; and her children, Janelle Theresa Nissen (Van Kuren) of Spencer, IA, Jimaline Ann (Van Kuren) of Armstrong, John Edward Staup of Hawaii, Tiffany Marie Jones (Ostrander) of Spencer, IA and James Thomas Mengelsen Jr. of Spencer, IA. She is also survived by her friends and family.
