He was predeceased by: his parents, David Laing and Anna Laing (Jensen); and his sisters, Nancy Dethmann and Susan. He is survived by: his wife Joan Vroman; his stepson Chad Vroman (Alicia) of San Diego, CA; and his grandchildren, Jessica Campo (Steven) of Ft. Wainwright, AK and Joshua Vroman of Bremerton, WA. He is also survived by niece and nephew.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials made to Clinton or Jackson County Humane Societies.
