He was predeceased by: his parents, Weldon Sonksen and Edith Sonksen (Silvey); and his brother Delmar Sonksen. He is survived by: his sons, Shane Sonksen (Angela) of Boone, IA and Travis Sonksen (Amy) of Stratford, IA; his grandchildren, Alexys Sonksen, Carter Sonksen, Parker Sonksen, Maddox Dodson and Saige Sonksen; and his sisters, Dawn Sonksen of Boone, IA and Dallis Sonksen (Michael Smith) of Boone, IA.
A portion of the memorials will be donated to the Boone Area Veteran's Center, under construction in Boone.
