He was predeceased by: his father Arnold Carlson; his sister-in-law Marlys Carlson; and his cousin Ryan Carlson. He is survived by: his mother Donna Carlson (Larson) of Stratford; his wife Tennie; his sons, Coyce Carlson (Kylee) of Stratford and Cayson Carlson (Shea Hassebrock) of Stratford; his grandsons, Camden Arnold, Caylor Ashby and Clay August Carlson; his siblings, Brenda Carlson of Polk City, Greg Carlson of Stratford and Rick Carlson (April) of Stratford; his brother-in-law Travis Flaherty of Stratford; and his mother-in-law Lois Larson (John) of Stratford. He is also survived by many extended family members and numerous friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Stratford Fire Station.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Grant's family so they may honor Grant through many of his favorite charities.
