It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Barbara Amsden (Strawberry Point, Iowa), who passed away on October 29, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Berdien Friedley and Lucille Friedley (Easton); her husband Lawrence "Shorty" Amsden; her brother Edward Friedley; and her siblings-in-law, Emma Lou Gull, Carl Amsden and Lloyd Amsden.
She is survived by: her children, Deanna McCusker (Ken) of Maquoketa and Delbert Amsden (Dawn) of Collins; her grandchildren, Amanda Becraft (Heather), Luke Dement, Taylor Marshall (Brett), Brendan Amsden, Alex Amsden (Angel) and Casey Amsden; her great grandchildren, Nathan, Jace, Aubrey, Adrian, Junior, Hazel, Lincoln, Gracelynn and Amara; her siblings, Sandy Gehrke (Wally) of The Colony, Brenda Friedley (Kenneth) of Garnavillo and John Friedley (Jane) of Volga; her sister-in-law Wanda Amsden of Elkader; Bruce Klett. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, November 3rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Community Bible Church (307 Lincoln St, Strawberry Point, IA 52076). A burial will be held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at the Edgewood City Cemetery (210th Ave, Edgewood, IA).
