He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Brooks and Nellie Vione Brooks; his parents-in-law, Harold and Lucille Keppler; his siblings, Vincent, Vance and Veronica Jandik; and his siblings-in-law, Harley Radloff, John Feller, Jerry Lamphere, Patricia Schoulte and Virginia Keppler.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Lou (Strawberry Point); his children, Michelle Paris (Shane), Cole Brooks, Lisa Patterson (Mike) and Wade Brooks (Jennifer Otdoerfer); his grandchildren, Dylan Paris (Addi), Karli Cole (Bennett), Gage Paris (Kelsey), Dillon Kuennen, Morgen Kuennen-Brooks (Jake), Realei Brooks, Natalie Patterson (Logan), Cade Patterson (Arlie), Jack Patterson and Quinton Brehme (Keao); his siblings, Verdis Feller, Verlene Kelly (Buster), ValJean Berg, Valetta Radloff, Vikki Welsh (Jim Fierstine) and Victor Brooks; and his siblings-in-law, Dave Keppler (Mary), Duane Keppler (Barb), Frank Keppler (Iona), Mike Kepper, Joe Keppler, Tony Keppler (Gerarda), Bob Schoulte, Ardelle Brooks, Grace Lamphere, Caroline Otdoerfer and Theresa Laughead (Randall). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established in Vaylard's honor.
