He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl H. Lantz and Mildred M. Lantz (Taylor); his siblings, Leland (Marilyn), Laurel Hagen (Walter) and Dale; his son Patrick; his grandson Dagan; and his great grandchild Jackson.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Lantz (Davis); his children, Sheila Lopez (David) of St. George, Curtis Lantz (Deb) of Wisner, Penny Lantz (Gary Carnine) of Adel, Stuart Lantz of Adel, Sarah Lantz of Waukee, Lisa Lantz (Scott Bassford) of Decorah and Dustin Lantz (Cristin) of Perry; his grandchildren, Julie Mylan of Tooele, Utah, Michelle Herrera of Tooele, Utah, Curtis Jr. Lantz (Brandie) of Wisner, Nebraska, Nicole Kettler (Nick) of Norfolk, Nebraska, Thays Dyson Lantz of Wisner, Nebraska, Ryan Lantz of Des Moines, Justin Lantz (Kari) of Puerto Rico, Melissa Mickael of Kirkland, Washington, Justin Mickael (Katie) of Dallas Center, Elizabeth Micael of Adel, Logan Lantz of Waukee, Van Bassford of Decorah, Gray Bassford of Decorah, Isaac Lantz (Cierra Kinzie) of Redfield and Lilian Lantz of Perry; his siblings-in-law, Marcia Lantz of Anita and Larry Davis (Dodie) of Adel; and his extended family Norman Stine. He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Stuart Chapel (123 NE 2nd St, Stuart, IA 50250).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in David's memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Iowa KidSight, or Timber Creek Therapies.
