He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorraine Thurm and Lorena Thurm (Blasberg); his brothers, Gerald Thurm and David Thurm (Carol); his brother-in-law Dale Sickles; his nephew Scott Thurm; Forrest and Kate Sickles.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Jo Sickles; his children, Mike Thurm (Missy) of Waverly, Jodi Risse (Tom) of Sumner, DeAnn Green (Mike) of Oelwein and Tim Thurm of Sumner; his grandchildren, Michaella Green, Joshua Benning, Alyson Thurm (Kyle DeVoe), Nathan Thurm (Hannah), Natalie Risse, Jacob Risse (Sarah), Marisa Thurm, Kaleigh Thurm and Emma Thurm; his great grandchildren, Bennett Thurm, Lowen Thurm, Maverick DeVoe and Macee DeVoe; his brother Allen Thurm (Tracy); his sister-in-law Dixie Thurm; Scott Sickles, Bob Sickles (Judy) and Vickie Lee. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
