We bid farewell to Debra Kay Maurer (Sutherland, Iowa), born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 23, 2024 at the age of 58. Debra Kay touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles Carrier and Margo Carrier (Meyerdirk); her in-laws, Ken and Alice Maurer; her sister-in-law Nancy Maurer; and her niece Elaina Maurer.

She is survived by : her children, Benjamin Maurer of Spencer, IA and Allison Maurer of Omaha, NE; her husband Bradley Maurer; her daughter Elizabeth Maurer of Sutherland, IA.; her sister Melissa Hasty (Rich); her nephews, Charles and Richard Hasty; and her siblings-in-law, Ron Maurer, Greg Maurer (Deana), Gail Maurer (Sherry) and Cindy Lundquist (Doug). She is also survived by many extended family and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Church of Christ (203 S Oak St, Sutherland, IA 51058). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at the Waterman Cemetery (420 S Hiview St, Sutherland, IA 51058).

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Debra's name.
