With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Frederick Lee Shelton of Swisher, Iowa, born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 24, 2026 at the age of 94. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Lavern and Bessie Shelton (Neckwinder); his stepfather Clarence Poula; his parents-in-law, Ed and Mary Herman; his sisters, Charolette Shelton and Barbara Kolsto; his brothers-in-law, Wayne Kolsto and Larry Henkes; and his daughter-in-law Teresa Shelton (Carol Williams).
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Marie Herman; his children, Eric Shelton (Kerry), Jaime Shelton, Julie (Dennis Kiedyk), Brett Shelton and Tim Shelton (Wendy); his grandchildren, Amber, Andrea, Maria, Stephanie, Thomas, Natalie and Cale; and his sister-in-law Joyce Henkes. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the American Legion in Fred's name.
