He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann Meads; his children, Kelly Dougherty (Greg Dougherty), Juli Schoening (Mark Schoening) and John Meads (Raina Meads); and his siblings, Kay Hummel, Jim Meads, Gerry Patterson, Joyce Thompson, Joann Kennedy, Ronnie Meads and Connie Schaffner. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren and spouses and ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Peterson Mortuary, Inc. (212 S Locust St, Glenwood, IA 51534). A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Tabor Cemetery (26502 Waubonsie Ave, Tabor, IA 51653).
