He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, David Forbes, Thomas Forbes (Michelle), Melinda Kellerman (Clinton), Melissa McCourt (Kelly), Jennifer Hope (Sean), Rosanne Dollen (Adam) and Amy Christensen (Jared); his close friend Amber Sharp; his adoptive children, Liz, Jay Covert and Lillian Kingsolver; and his grandson Karter Covert. He is also survived by other relatives and numerous friends.
