It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carole Louise (Hill) Gassaway of Tama, Iowa, who passed away on November 23, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Carole farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Carole is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Louise Hill and Richard Hill; her husband Robert; and her sister-in-law Janet Schwarz. She is survived by: her daughters, Melissa Myers and Lisa Hickcox; her granddaughters, Jessi Myers (Dakota Garnes) and Lindsey Myers (Tristan Mouzakis); her great grandchild Colby Garnes; her brother Ron Hill; and her sister-in-law Mary Millard. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens (121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, IA 50313). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 at the Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery (121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, IA 50313).
