Richard Earl Merfeld Obituary
We are sad to announce that on June 27, 2025, at the age of 78, Richard Earl Merfeld of Tama, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Merfeld and Elizabeth Merfeld (Redmond); his siblings, Jerry Merfeld and Mary Baker; and his in-laws, Elvern and Marie Capron.
He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his daughters, Dawn Walker (Joe Witte) and Stacy Merfeld (Tim Kasal); his grandchildren, Trent Walker (Cheyenne Vanzee), Kenzee Charlier (Quinten), Marckus Merfeld (Makayla) and Megan Witte; his great grandchildren, Paxton, Melanie, Brystol, Avery, Margot, Beckham, Mary Ann, Knox and Milo; his sisters, Louise Harn (Ed), Nancy Meier (Larry) and Barbara Embree (Mark); and his siblings-in-law, Marge Eilers (William), Elverna Hoffman (Gary) and John Capron (Wendy). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Woodlawn Cemetery (959-989 S Elm St, Toledo, IA 52342).
Memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice in Marshalltown.
