He was predeceased by: his mother Anna Lee Smith (Merrick); his wife G. Elaine Smith; and his granddaughter Savannah Arp. He is survived by: his father Burl Smith; his children, Tanya Arp of Toledo, Iowa and Matthew Allen Smith of Irvine, California; his stepson Robert Wright Jr. of Dallas, Texas.; his siblings, Kay Bailey of Denver, Colorado and Ray Smith of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.; and his grandchildren, Garrett Arp, Logan Arp, Mackenzie Smith and Sydney Arp.
In lieu of flowers, the family humbly requests that memorials in Roy's name be made to the Dementia Society of America.
