He is survived by: his wife Shirley Handy (Werkhoven); his children, Terrie Gronau (Glen) of Michigan, Rodney Handy (Arlinda) of Iowa, Kristi Jones (Scott) of Texas and Brian Handy of Oregon; and his siblings, Cheryl Oliver of Florida and Gerry Handy (Connie) of Iowa. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
