She was predeceased by : her parents, George Albert and Luella Alice Thumma (Burkholder); her siblings, Hazel, Jean Thumma, Merle Thumma (Mary), Glenn Thumma (Laura Lee), Melvin Thumma (Rosetta), Harold Thumma (Norma), Dale Thumma (Frances) and Robert Thumma; her son-in-law Paul Shellman; her grandson Jacob Shellman; and her siblings-in-law, Evelyn Smith, Elaine Smith, Wayne Smith (Gloria) and Dean Smith (Jeannie).

She is survived by : her husband Richard Homer Smith of Tipton; her children, Debbie Schneider (Jim) of Tipton, Cheryl Little (Jeff) of Tipton, Tim Smith (Bonnie) of Hilliard, OH, Mary Little (Wes) of Tipton, Martha Shellman of Angier, NC, Joel Smith (Denise) of Tipton and Jonathan Smith (Kerri) of Tipton; and her siblings-in-law, Betty Thumma, Janet Thomson (Bert) and Lee Smith (Carol). She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.

In remembrance of Helen, a memorial fund has been established and will be shared between the Tipton Bible Church and the Tipton Christian Academy.
