He was predeceased by: his parents, John Meppelink and Treva Meppelink (VandeKrol); his son William Henson; his brothers, David and Kenneth Meppelink; his granddaughter Abigail; his son-in-law Jefferey Lunn; his parents-in-law, Edgar and Lucille Smith; and his brother-in-law Dale Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Smith; his children, Kenneth Meppelink (Pam) of Texas, Rick Meppelink of Iowa, Cynthia Lunn of Ankeny, IA, Sandra Hodapp (David) of Kentucky, Laurie Flynn (Lance) of Garwin, IA, Diana Dolezal of Des Moines, IA, Rodney Dolezal of Marshalltown, IA, Tim Dolezal (Trisha) of Montour, IA and Denise Thomazin (Ben) of Chelsea, IA; and his siblings, Jerry Meppelink of Missouri, Phyllis Falk (Larry) of Missouri and Jim Meppelink (Annette) of Oklahoma. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
