It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Verlene Ann Horbach of Toledo, Iowa, who passed away on October 17, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bruno Bronsema and Vera Bronsema (Radeff); her daughter Lisa Loewen; her brother-in-law Bill Fleming; and her brothers, Denny and Kemlin Bronsema.
She is survived by: her children, Lance Horbach (Jody) of Montezuma, Lori Sirman (Gary) of Tyler, TX, Lon Horbach (Janet) of Ellston, Larry Horbach (Christine) of Toledo and Lee Horbach (Cindy) of Jefferson, IA; her son-in-law Rex Loewen of Lawrence, KS; her grandchildren, Amy Huff (John), Kendra Pitman (Brice), Missy Moorman (Dave), Nick Horbach (Courtney), Ryan Sirman, Devyn Krug (Tyler), Hunter Horbach (Jessica), Abby Horbach, Brandon Horbach (Jamie), Tyler Horbach (Katelyn), Kaitlin Nelson (Garrett), Joshua Horbach, Alia Loewen-Friedley (Aaron), Ayla Loewen, Lyle Loewen (Emma) and Molly Loewen; her sister Janelle Fleming of Marion; and her sibling's children, Teri and B. J.. She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at 7:00 PM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (900 Park St, Tama, IA 52339). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
A memorial fund will be established.
