He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Keefe of John's Catholic Church; his children, Pat McGarvey (Cathy) of Mt. Auburn, Mary Lou Drnovsek (Scott) of Thornton, CO, Jeannie Waite (Craig Embretson) of Palo, Eddie McGarvey (Sara) of Buckingham, Judy Fisher (Gene Engelkes) of Janesville, Jackie McGarvey (Mary Lou Culwell) of Sarasota, FL and Carol Faulkner (Don) of Olathe, KS.; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Jay (Joyce), David (Tosha), Mallory (Nik), Sam (Miranda), Shelby (Mike), Derek (Andrea), Devon (Kristina), Dustin (Marja), Dawn (Brian), Justine (Drew), Steven (Kaylee), Ben (Ashton), Keir, Hayley, Olivia, Daniel, Adam (Lexi), Miranda (Jeiffry) and Tony; his great grandchildren, Marcelo (Skylar), Luis, Selena (Sam), Mikia (Madeline), Sandra, Scarlett, Jaxson, Hannah, Wyatt, Clementine, Ryken, Larkyn, Montgomery, Dorothy, Jettson, Asher, Colter, Mara, Josey, Piper, Emmett, Isaac, Evan, Brynlee, Ellie of Cole, AJ, Arya, Autumn, Amber, Teaza (Sharrod), DJ (Cleaira), Milo, Cohen and Benji; his great great grandchildren, Ariana, Javier, Leonel, Love Lita and Azarye; his siblings, Margaret Ann Steffen, Wayne McGarvey (Becky), Paula Ladage (Ken) and Beth Taylor (Bill); and his siblings-in-law, Jim Weber, Carol McGarvey, Ronald Cottrell, Judy Keefe and David Carlson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, November 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church (1435 E Eagle Rd, Waterloo, IA 50701). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
