He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Hilmer and Lorraine Hilmer (Petersen); and his wife Jackie Boddicker-Hilmer. He is survived by: his children, Celena Bahr (Marc) of Dysart, Abby Paige (Brantley) of Evansdale and Bill Hilmer of Montrose, MN; his grandsons, Jacob, Zachary, Lane and Vincent; and his siblings, Scott Hilmer (Penny) of Boone, Stacey Dabney (Dennis) of Dysart, Robbie Hilmer (Kim) of Dysart and Curt Hilmer of Dysart. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dysart Community Building (418 Main St, Dysart, IA 52224).
