He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Clausen and Mabel Irene Clausen (Hansen); his wife Kathryn Poort; his brother Larry Clausen; and his stepchildren, Mark Crisler, Kimberly Crisler and Dustin Crisler.

He is survived by: his son Shawn Clausen of Treynor; his grandson Ford Boxrud-Clausen; his sisters, Janice Harrill of Treynor, IA and Kathy Wangberg (Mark) of Treynor, IA; his stepson Daniel Crisler of Austin, TX; and his siblings-in-law, Roger (Mary Poort) and Lisa (Steve Dolezal). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of many special friends.

A graveside service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Malvern Cemetery.
