It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan (Dombrowski) Hammond of Union, Iowa, who passed away on June 9, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Norman Peterson and Lida Peterson (Boutwell); her son Michael; her siblings, Norman Peterson and Lynn Fisher; her sister-in-law Patricia Peterson; and her nephews, Steven Peterson, Jory Olson and Jesse Barkey.
She is survived by: her husband Jerry Hammond; her children, Greg Dombrowski (Corey) and Tammy Lewis (Todd); her stepchildren, Brooke Dwars (Ryan), Chelsea Hartsock (Grant Blake) and Adam Hammond (Dana); her grandchildren, Caitlin Peña (Mario), Halie Dombrowski (Nolan Ostrom), Jaymie, Cydnie Argotsinger and Isabelle Dombrowski; her stepgrandchildren, Paityn, Scarlett, Tate, Asher, Everlie, Hoyt and Hayden; and her siblings, Robert Peterson (Carolyn), Larry Peterson (Nancy), Arlen Peterson, Ron Peterson (Martha), Dennis Peterson, Kent Peterson (Mary), Sally Peterson, Phyllis Barkey (Perry), Lori Halverson and Renee Treinen (Kerry). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Hampton - Woodley Funeral Home (306 Central Ave E, Hampton, IA 50441). A burial was held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at the Hampton Cemetery (521 4th St NE, Hampton, IA 50441).
