James Hoss Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Hoss of Urbandale, Iowa, who passed away on August 4, 2025 at the age of 84. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Hoss to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Hoss and Ferne Hoss; and his nephew Chad Smith. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Jones; his children, David Hoss, Carolyn Palmer (Garen) and Katie Roeth (Ryan); his grandchildren, Sara, Scot, Anna, Ally, Haley, Jamie and Kristin; his great grandchildren, Anna Rose, Aaron James, Isaac James and Ivy May; and his siblings, Herbert E. Hoss and Mary Kaye Smith (Everett). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (8250 NW 62nd Ave, Johnston, IA 50131). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Greater Des Moines (8250 NW 62nd Ave, Johnston, IA 50131).
