Lilah Elizabeth Ness Obituary

The memory of Lilah Elizabeth Ness (Urbandale, Iowa), who passed away on March 3, 2026 at the age of 92, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Waltz and Mildred Waltz (Freiberg); her husband Charles Ness; her daughter Cindy Baker; her brother Joseph Waltz Jr.; and her brother-in-law Robert Jensen (Bob).

She is survived by: her daughters, Diane Yates (Bryan) and Sheryl Granke (Chris); her grandchildren, Jessica and Mike Nothdorf; her great grandchild Ashley Nothdorf; and her siblings, Karen Jensen, Susie McCauley (Dick) and Dennis Waltz (Denise). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lilah spent many years volunteering with Iowa Public Television, the American Cancer Society, and United Way's RSVP program.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Friends of IPTV, Des Moines Performing Arts, or Every Step Hospice.
