He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Keith and Marian Irene Christensen. He is survived by: his wife Deb (Deb); his children, Rachel Christensen Grilli, Richard "Chris" Keith Christensen III (Jenn) and Ryan Christensen (Ana); his grandchildren, Katie, Ellie, Charlotte, Vivian, Ryan and Richard IV "Ryker"; and his siblings, Rhonda Dramstad (Don) and Reed Christensen (Mary). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Des Moines, honoring Dick's love for animals.
