She was predeceased by : her parents, Floyd Akes and Agnes Akes (Wright); and her sister Patricia Single. She is survived by : her husband Fred; her sons, Chris (Tracy) and Tim Clingan (Stacie); her granddaughters, Tiffany, Grace and Hope Clingan; and her sister Myra Countryman. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Westown Parkway (3601 Westown Pkwy, West Des Moines, IA 50265). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
