He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Ahlers and Lucille Ahlers (Ludwig); and his sister Marilyn Barnes. He is survived by: his wife Chuckie Ahlers; his children, Aimee Jacobson (Pete) of Windsor, CO, Jeff Ahlers (Mel) of Overland Park, KS and Katie Frandrup (Luke) of Edina, MN; and his grandchildren, Avery Ahlers, Owen Jacobson, Luke Jacobson, Katelyn Jacobson, Lauren Frandrup, Ben Frandrup, Josie Ahlers and Livi Ahlers.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be used towards a memorial in Tom's memory at a later date.
