He was predeceased by : his parents, Floyd Mitchell and Agnes Mitchell (Mangan); and his wife Joann Michell. He is survived by : his children, Brenda Newell of Storm Lake, IA, Mike Mitchell of Ute, IA and Lori Roberson (Ben) of Mesa, AZ; his grandchildren, Symone McCright, Kyle Newell, Grace Newell, Cody Roberson, Cole Roberson, Cade Roberson and Kristina Roberson; and his great grandchildren, Azaleia McCreight, Ryland McCreight, Aveliegh Newell and Adelaide Newell.
